Baby, Ballgown and Bad Breath

Where did the past two months go? Wow! Now that's not a way to start a blog, is it?

February for me is the busiest time of the year - it's Heart Month. So many events going on throughout the month on my team spread out South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota and Nebraska. Events like Go Red For Women Luncheons, Go Red Ladies Night Out, Heart Balls and Wear Red Day. I traveled a lot this month. A lot. I was able to take along my gal pal, Jodi, to the Fargo Heart Ball. We had a good time - lots of laughs along with a mini-buffet of deep fried pickles, cheese curds and thai beef quesadillas. An interesting late-night mix that the baby DID NOT like at 2:00 a.m. when I was awaken to a rushed visit to the porcelain God. Thank heavens those calories didn't end up on these hips. But not a pleasant experience (afterwards).

Another one of events in February that my wonderful hubby accompanied me with was the Lincoln Heart Ball. This was a first for me with a baby shoved into a scarlet red ballgown. Ha! The proof is in the picture below. Drew and I had a fun time shopping together on our way down to Lincoln and just spending some alone time together. It was nice to get away - just the two of us.

So that covers the baby and the ballgown, now what about the bad breath? Oh yes. Who else has had bad breath during their pregnancy? I don't remember this at all when I was pregnant with William, but this time...it is outrageous. Therefore, I have resorted to chewing gum. That's right people. Those of you that are close to me know that I DO NOT CHEW GUM because I swallow gum. I swallow gum without realizing that I swallowed it. And then I instinctly open another piece, chew, swallow. Repeat. There have been days (in the past) where before I knew it, an entire pack of gum would be gone. And in my stomach. So...about two years ago I said no more. No more gum.

But I've been desperate to get rid of this crazy "wallpaper peeling" bad breath. And I made a committment to myself that I would not swallow the gum. Not really for me but for the little baby brewing inside. I have been chewing Trident Layers Cherry and Lime non-stop for three weeks now.

There's a pack in my purse, in my car and in the house at all times. And believe it or not, it has also helped with my upset stomach! So...double duty. As long as I can keep it in the trashcan after I'm done with it.(I will admit that today I accidentally swallowed one piece while I was meeting with volunteers at an event. Totally by accident and again, I didn't realize that I did it until after I was talking with them. Yikes!)

Anyone else have tips for bad breath? Peppermint and anything minty is not my friend right now. It makes my stomach turn in knots. Any suggestions would be wonderful!

Until then, my friends...let's keep the gum off of the bottoms of restaurant booths and out of my stomach! Happy chewing.
